Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve Eve I spent the night at Glen and Mary's. Greg was coming in from out of town, and Macy loves spending time with her Aunt Gina! We had sold the Navigator Thursday morning (really quickly!) and I was so bummed. I loved that car. I try very hard not to put a connotation of Tripp with objects. I feel like that just sets you up for devastation. Example, if his tree were to die, or some plants that were given to me after he died I try not to link them together. If you do, it's like opening that wound all over again if something happens.
But the Navigator, that was a decision we made when we found out we were pregnant. I drove it through my pregnancy. To all my doctor appointments. To the hospital. We brought him home in it. It was just a really hard thing for me. It was party of moving on, and that is incredibly painful. Gas prices are going up, we don't need the space, and it was selfish to want to keep it.

Friday morning they let me sleep in and all went to breakfast. Gina and Macy went last minute shopping together and Glen, Mary and Greg went together. They didn't get back until 4 PM! They were getting my car, and I had no idea!! Just a side note, my husband is amazing. He is so awesome at finding great deals on cars and boats.

We went to Christmas Eve service at Cross Pointe Church in Duluth. The theme was "Bittersweet Symphony" (one of my favorite songs!) They had a full orchestra and it was so awesome!! I'm not sure, but over half of us were crying at the service. It was pretty hard, harder than I anticipated. We were singing "O Come, All Ye Faithful" and there was a boy standing next to me, he was about 5, singing at the top of his lungs, off key and I just crumbled. Moments like that give me a glimpse into the future of what will not be.

After church we went to Bonefish grill for a yummy dinner. We have been the past three years, and it is SO good.

We told her we had to go outside to put the reindeer food on the lawn.

Looks pretty huh?!

Christmas with the Miller's

We were SO bummed when Weston's flight got cancelled. He had to do a 24 hour shift on Christmas Eve, and his ONLY chance to get here was one of two flights on Christmas day. The first was cancelled and we were all sure the second would get cancelled as the winter storm was getting worse as the day went on. BUT- he made it!!! We were so excited.
Macy passed out on the way back to my parents so the adults opened presents but no stockings.

Sarah got a cookbook from mom
We gave Sarah and Weston a grill... assembly required (hee hee)

Greg being silly
An apron mom made for me. How cool! Are they trying to tell me something?
Haha- Dad is not the best wrapper
I made mom a photo album
Tears! Score!
Mom gave dad a doorbell. He loved it obviously
The dogs got a treat
Sarah got all of her ornaments (with her name, and ones mom personalized for her through the years) So special!

Dad need a wrap lesson :) hahahaha
The next morning, we got up, and ate breakfast and opened Macy's presents and our stockings

Hard at work

Macy had to visit for a few minutes this afternoon until her Dad picked her up :) I let her answer the phones for a while.... (just kidding, the phones haven't rang all day!)

Dinner at Jack & Judy's

Our stop number 3 is to Jack and Judy's to see Greg's (paternal) side of the family. We have been doing this same route, what 5 years now?! Luckily, we all live so close the travel isn't bad. This year though, it was a little tricky as we had a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!

Macy was hopping like the snowman it was so funny
Beau eating a cracker (it looks like a cigarette now that I look at it!! haha!)

Just a few of the over 50 people that came!
Jackie, master of the kitchen
And his dad, Jack, who taught him well! :)
One day, I will have a front door like this! The wreaths cover it, but they are just as gorgeous!!!
LOL Santa, stay the way you are
Judy made me fall in love with flocked trees, I think they are so gorgeous!
