I couldn't caption the pictures in his movie, so I wanted to do that!
Brady was SO GOOD that night. I mean seriously... golden. He slept the entire time we were at the hospital. Thank goodness. We needed to be there for Gina and Kevin and as we all know, babies are on their own time (as they should be!) but he was so good. I twas really a God thing.
I sent this picture to Glen as we were leaving Judy's. Shannon (his brother) makes some AWESOME rolls and he sent me with some to take to Glen. I said "None for you!!" They were delicious!
When we got to the hospital, I made them take one last picture!
Here is my first ever picture of baby Jack. Seeing him like that for the first time after having MONTHS of anticipating this moment of meeting him was incredibly hard for all of us.
A little closer. I think I sent this one out to friends and family. I remember telling Sara Player that it was a boy and it broke my heart. I KNEW Gina wanted to tell her and I knew that Sara wanted to hear from her best friend, but it just didn't work out that way. Telling people what was happening was also VERY hard, but I was very happy to do it, as Glen and Mary really weren't in the right mindset to notify our family.
I will never forget this scene. I don't know why I thought to take this picture- it was such a somber and quiet room. We were all holding our breaths as he struggled to breath.
This picture was taken by the hospital and hung on his NICU bed. So this was his first "real" picture!
Sara (not my sister) sent me this one... he was about 12 hours old!
Gina holding Jack. She has always been a natural, with all of my kids. She can't WAIT to get her hands on them and wants to love on them sometimes before she even says hi to us! (can you blame her?) It made my heart SO HAPPY to see this sight. It was so comforting to see him in his mommas arms. Even with the monitor (it was the same monitor Brady had!)
Seriously tired, totally proud parents
At home! I know Gina was relieved!
Brady was 3 months old and Jack was 3 days old in this picture. It doesn't do it justice how HUGE Brady looked. He was twice his size!
The mobile I made for Gina!
Getting a bottle
Can you believe I still haven't held him? Every time he has been sleeping in this car seat, or I have been fighting a cold. With his respiratory issues I did not want to risk it at all! It will happen soon!

I'm so glad you were there with your camera and had the presence of mind to take SO MANY pictures!! What a treasure for Gina and Kevin and for Baby Jack! I remember how crushed Daddy and I were to find out there was no film in our camera after taking pictures when Sarah was born... (Of course that was in "the old days"!)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I want Shannon's roll recipe! :-)
